Cameo Hallmark

I have a cameo/onyx gold ring with a Roman soldier. It's stamped with a hallmark "SHUTE&CO." and "14K" I've been having difficulty researching the company and have only been able to determine there was a jewelry and watch company by the same name in Canda ca. 1898. If anyone has any other info I'd love to know more. Thanks;
