Unfortunately, the market is flooded with "new" pearls and with the condition of yours needing to be worked on, I honestly can say the offer you received is not a bad one. The mark up on the pearls you purchased was HUGE.
You can hold out for a few hundred more at most and that might be a very long shot. I wish I had better news for you. People come with these in perfect condition a few times a month to be sold and they are not looking for anywhere near that amount and some of them are antique.
