Bad Finish on Vintage Faux Pearls
by Londa

I have several strings of vintage faux pearls which have a bad finish, either peeling off or completely gone. But often they have catches that are nice, unique, and functional. (maybe with a missing rhinestone here or there)
My question is: Do vintage faux pearls with bad finishes have any value to collectors? or would I do better to remove hardware from pearls and sell it separately?
Many times I see others successfully selling pearls with some chipping, so do collectors forgive a certain percentage of a string that is losing part of "pearl" finish?
Thank you in advance for your help on the direction I should take.
