Are Blue Lagoon Pearls That Much Different From Mikimoto A1 Pearls?

I've seen a 7.5-9 18" Blue Lagoon set for $1225 or a 7-7.5 Mikimoto 18 necklace for $3660...is it worth that big of a difference?
