I would say by looking at the pictures only that your ring is most certainly gold. The stamp marking inside appears to say "14" which would indicate that it is 14 karat gold. The stone is very pretty and it is unlikely that they would place a fake stone into a gold ring. It looks similar to a Rubellite Tourmaline, but there is no way for me to tell via pictures. I would suggest bringing it into a jeweler to have the stone identified for sure. It's a very nice ring, good find!
