Tiffany & Co & Platinum
by: Colleen

Bobby,

Tiffany & Co became a world renowned proponent in the Art Nouveau which derived its magic from nature - but Tiffany did it from an American point of view. Metals were mixed in combinations of Silver, Gold and PLATINUM providing sumptuous settings....your Tifffany & Co ring sounds beautiful! I wouldn't remove the stone if it was my ring. Tiffany & Co are one of the top ten jewelry brands in the world.
Cheers
Colleen

how to get antique tiffany authenticated
by: Anonymous

The Tiffany Archives charge $1000+ to have something authenticated, it's a ridiculous fee. You can compare to others that are authentic, there are characteristics that just can't be imitated. I inherited I got my Tiffany so I can have the comfort of knowing for myself that they are real. Cheers

Authenticating a Tiffany

Is there any way to authenticate a vintage Tiffany diamond? The setting is no longer original, has been changed a few times over the years.

Bobby are you kidding? Don't remove the stone! Tiffany & Co. has been the world's premier jeweler and America's house of design since 1837. Is there any chance of seeing a photo?

I have the same ring inPLATINUM!
by: Bobby

Hello,

I have bought this same type of ring at a Pawn shop. I honestly thought it it was just another ring but.... I saw the Tiffany & Co. stamp with some guys loop. The man said it was platinum. I really didn't care much for the ring, since I originally bought it for the old miners cut stone it has. (IT'S BEAUTIFUL).
I collect this this type of cut diamonds.

Should I remove it from the ring?

Thanks

Tiffany Jewelry Addict

Oh - I understand where you are coming from, I also have an addiction to Tiffany jewelry, and a collector myself, but as you must know there are so many fake Tiffany marks. Tiffany jewelry in particular is highly susceptible to counterfeiting. I have learnt the hard way that when you run across a signed article, it helps if you have a genuine piece with which to compare it too and to check that the typeface of TIFFANY & CO. (yes, it has a period) is exactly right and that it is properly placed on the piece. The ring sound divine. Is there any chance of uploading a photo of the ring for us?

thanks,
Joyce

Authenticity

Hi. I also wanted to add that the ring was appraised by a very experienced GIA grad and it is stated as Tiffany & Company; the 4c's of the diamond are guaranteed as well. It is a "very good cut" (by the GIA standards of today even) old European diamond with a small open cutlet, .57ct, VVS2 clarity, j-k color and sooooo sparkly, wow!

Tiffany mark

Hi,
I know the ring is Authentic because it was inherited (along with another that is from the very 1st batch of T&Co rings ever made from 1886); I can not justify paying the $1000+ the Tiffany archives charge to have something authenticated, it's a ridiculous fee... it is obvious by the extreme quality of the craftsmanship of the piece and by comparison to pictures from authenticated antique T&Co pieces from the late 1800s, that the piece is 100% authentic. You just can't fake that kind of quality, it's pretty amazing that something this beautiful was made that long ago. The hallmark and all other aspects of the ring clearly display its authenticity.
Thanks
p.s. I have a slight addiction to antique T&Co jewelery and have see a great deal to use as comparison

Tiffanys Jewelry

Hi Angele

As many of us know, Tiffanys jewelry is world famous and this ring sounds like it would make a lovely antique diamond engagement ring but also remember that "signed Tiffany" does not make it Tiffany. Could you verify for us that is it an authentic Tiffany mark?

with regards
