Antique Pearl Earrings with "c" clasp, or screw backs

My great aunt gave me these earrings about 10 years ago, she was 92 when she passed away in 2001. She showed me a note in the box written by her mother's sister, "Aunt Gen". The note said "These ear drops belonged to mother's sister, aunt Christina who would be over a hundred years old."

Aunt Gen's mother was born October 1, 1856.

They passed the 'magnet test" but I can't tell if they are silver or gold. How can I find out more about these earrings? They are in perfect condition. How can I find out their value?
