Hello Amanda, Thank you for taking the time to look at the piece I have. On the back is stamped 18KVP, along with a hallmark which looks like a chicken wishbone? I have been told the piece is made of gold, there is also a pearl in each ear-ring, and the necklace itself.

You have a very nice piece there. If it is custom made as you described it is likely made of precious metal. There should be a purity mark somewhere on the piece indicating what karat gold it is. The higher the karat the more valuable it is.
