Alexandrite? and Diamond Embedded In Ring

I just purchased an Alexandrite 14K white gold ring with an EI or E1 and a small diamond gemstone is embedded on the inside band.

What does the Hallmark and Diamond inside the band stand for? What are the chances that the
stone is a real Alexandrite?
