The frame is really nice too! It doesn't look like an Antique Cameo although the frame could be. The cameo material looks like carnelian shell which I describe as "shell-orange"; a more subdued colour that what normally comes to mind when we hear the word "orange". Can you examine the piece carefully, preferably under magnification and let me know if it is signed anywhere, examine the cameo and the frame, look on the reverse of the shell and also all around the frame including the closures. The closure on the reverse of the frame also will help to date.
