" Growing Pearl"

Do Pearls continue to grow after it has been taken out of mollusk and is already in safekeeping? Because I have two pieces rice-like size pearls and I discover it lately to be growing in size. it has holes at both ends and when i tried to prick i was so surprised to see a very tiny object from the inside of same kind blocked one end of the entry. This is amazing !
