I have a piece of jewelry with a circle around a backwards and forwards k. It is inscribed with a date of 1910 so it is before it 1910

Hi Elizabeth
unfortunately, you can't upload images in these boards, (you can now:-) however, some visitors do provide links (in these submissions) to their images. I added the photo manually this end for the photo you see below.

Similar Maker's Marks by: Harry
Hi there, just thought I'd add my two cents worth...there are a LARGE number of the same initials marks that have been used by several makers, some within the same country, and the same period and some of these are remarkably similar.
Greetings! Harry

KK Follow-Up Submission by: Yvonne
Hi Rhonda photo received. Thank you!
This is not the back-to-back K mark of KAUNIS KORU. It's also a good example of why photos are so important. While doing my research I can across a gorgeous 14k ("585") gold brooch set with one large Labradorite, (love this stone) made by Kaunis Koru, Finland, 1962. I was very tempted!
The ring in the above photo looks to be of US manufacture. I would be concentrating any further research in reference to the ring, on your side of the pond, if I were you. Although I have tried to zoom in on the mark, I can only see the last letter K clearly.
Hi Rhonda - if the two Ks back to back, share the same vertical stem, it most likely will be the initial marks of:
KALEVALA KORU OY (Manufacturing Jewelers, Helsinki, Finland) - ca 1935 - Present
If the two Ks are completely separate but the first K is facing backward and the second K is facing forward, it will most likely be the initials marks of:
KAUNIS KORU (Manufacturing Jewelers, Finland) - ca 1956 - Present
We would love to see the initials if possible. You are welcome to upload a photo in a follow-up submission.
